Hello I am a new hire

Telarus has tapped Shane Speakman to lead its Central region.

Telarus’ Shane Speakman

Speakman will oversee the company’s field team and recruit and develop partners in the area. Scott Forbush, Telarus’ senior vice president of worldwide sales, said partners, employees and vendor partners will benefit from the new appointment.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Shane to our senior leadership team,” Forbush said. “Shane is a seasoned industry veteran who has admirably served as a channel leader for some of our very prominent providers. He is well-liked and respected in the channel because he understands first-hand how to attract and develop top-selling partners. In his prior roles, we’ve experienced firsthand his passion for agent success and his unique ability to help his team exceed their growth targets. His proactive, down-to-earth leadership style, unique strategies, and thorough understanding of today’s communication technology set him apart from his peers.”

Speakman most recently worked for AireSpring as vice president of channel sales and operations. He joined as vice president of channel strategy before earning a promotion last year. He served as interim vice president of indirect sales for Electric Lightwave, which Zayo acquired in 2017. Other previous employers include Comcast Business, where he directed SMB commercial sales, and XO Communications, where he was a national partner sales manager. Speakman said in a news release that his career on the supplier side of the channel brought him into contact with “every master agent in this industry” and allowed him to observe the growth of the channel.

“I’ve witnessed firsthand the power shifting in [the master agents’] favor as they build up their collective books of business selling voice, data, and cloud services. I can’t tell you how excited I am to transition to this side of the business, working for Telarus, without question, the fastest-growing, most forward-thinking master agency in the industry,” Speakman said. “Telarus has a stellar reputation for being an honest, down-to-earth, reliable organization that continues to innovate by creating new software tools and resources for the sole benefit of its partners. As we look to the future, I look forward to leveraging my leadership skills, technical knowledge and industry relationships to benefit my sales team and to help this company continue to scale like never before.”

Telarus last month announced a supplier agreement with the CLEC DynaLink Communications. The company also launched a cloud specialty practice.
