Nuxeo Ramps Up Open Source Partner Program
Nuxeo, a provider of open source enterprise content management, is building a channel operation in North America. The move comes as multiple open source companies prepare for the LinuxCon North America conference (Aug. 10-12, Boston). Here’s a closer look at Nuxeo and the open source IT channel.
Nuxeo, which was launched in Paris, is a decade old but its full-time pursuit of opportunities in North America started about 18 months ago. Nuxeo plans to have channel allies help with that push. The company aims to cultivate partners who build applications on top of Nuxeo’s core content management platform, noted Cheryl McKinnon, CMO at Nuxeo.
Specifically, Nuxeo seeks out partners with domain expertise in such vertical markets as education and public sector or in horizontal business processes such as contracts management or invoice processing, McKinnon said.
A recent infusion of $3.3 million in venture capital will be used to accelerate partner activity, according to Nuxeo.
The company has hired Rick Dobbs, formerly of EMC, as its director of channels. McKinnon said the company will also recruit technical resources to help partners build their applications on Nuxeo.
McKinnon will be presenting at LinuxCon, slated for August 10-12 in Boston. Expect to see a few other channel-oriented companies there: Black Duck Software, Canonical, and Novell among others. We’re curious to see if additional channel-oriented news surfaces at LinuxCon.
