Ruckus Wireless Goes Outside With New Access Point

Ruckus Wireless has brought its Wi-Fi access point outside.

The ZoneFlex 7762 device is supposed to overcome typical problems encountered in outdoor Wi-Fi deployments, such as physical obstructions, interference and network management. It’s a dual-band 802.11n access point.

Ruckus Wireless, which does sell through channel partners, said the ZoneFlex 7762 handles up to 150mbps over 1,000 feet between meshed nodes; those specs change when it comes to client devices – it’s up to 50mbps to those units over 500 feet.
