Miradore’s mobile device management (MDM) solution now supports Microsoft (MSFT) Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1 operating systems.

With this addition, Miradore Online, the Finland-based company’s free, cloud-based platform, now provides support to three mobile platforms: Google (GOOG) Android, Apple (AAPL) iOS and Windows Phone.

A Miradore spokesperson told MSPmentor that the company’s decision to support Windows was a result of customer demand, indirectly assisting managed services providers (MSPs) with managing customer devices.

“Previously our solution did not include Windows Phone support, and as Windows Phone is gaining popularity in company use, many MSPs only used Miradore Online for testing,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added: “Now with all three major mobile platforms supported, our clients can start a full scale deployment.”

The company said Miradore Online can be integrated with any IT Service Management (ITSM) system using an application programming interface (API).

Miradore has plans to add other platforms such as a desktop computers to its online software, the spokesperson said. These additional features will not be available for free.

“However, the current feature set will remain free — and that’s pretty unique value proposition within MDM vendors,” the spokesperson said.

Miradore appointed Marko Ruusinen as its CEO in February, shortly before announcing its free cloud-based MDM solution for MSPs.
