Good Technology has agreed to acquire mobile service management (MSM) company BoxTone to satisfy end user mobility demand, as well as provide IT with security and control, according to the company. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With the enterprise mobility management (EMM) space seemingly in disarray, Good has made its move to turn heads. The company said its acquisition of BoxTone will enhance its portfolio by adding a “wide-scale, mission-critical enterprise mobility” platform that will integrate into its end-to-end mobility solution.

Good Technology President and CEO Christy Wyatt said in a statement that Good’s acquisition of BoxTone brings together the “industry’s leading provider of secure mobility solutions for data, devices and apps with the industry innovator in mobile service management.”

“The synergies between BoxTone and Good will allow customers to benefit from the unique combination of security and service management to manage their business-critical mobile deployments,” said BoxTone president and CEO Alan Snyder in a statement.

Good said BoxTone’s “significant market presence in Japan” will assist with Good’s continued expansion into other regions, adding that the acquisition also will “generate more value for customers in Japan and across global markets and multi-national corporations.”

Both Good’s and BoxTone’s direct and reseller channels will continue to provide products, Good said.
