Mobility technology software developer Webalo, Inc. has announced a partnership with Citrix (CTXS) to provide a way to generate mobile versions of applications for the Citrix XenMobile infrastructure. The company has said that Webalo will be made available to more than 250,000 existing Citrix customers and 10,000 Citrix resellers through the Citrix Ready Worx Verified program. What makes this partnership "out of the box"? We'll reveal the scoop.
Citrix users will be able to leverage Webalo’s technology to access critical back-end data into the XenMobile infrastructure. Webalo integrates with most enterprise applications including those from IBM (IBM), Microsoft (MSFT), Oracle (ORCL), SAP (SAP), Salesforce.com (CRM), and custom built applications.
Webalo co-founder and CEO Peter Price told MSPmentor in an email that the platform plugs right into the end-to-end infrastructure without any additional programming, application servers and integrations.
"It is pre-integrated with the enterprise mobility management infrastructure (EMM – MDM/MAM), such as Citrix, and from its back-end connections it can generate apps for Android, Apple, BlackBerry and Windows smartphones and tablet," he said. "So from the back-end data, through the security infrastructure, to the device and back again, Webalo works 'out-of-the-box.'"
Since Webalo is Worx enabled, companies elminate the need to design, develop and independently verify mobile applications.
Citrix MDX technology places all apps and data in a container that is separated from personal apps and data on the user’s mobile device, allowing MSPs to set policy-based controls.
"Webalo will be a valuable addition to our Citrix Ready Worx Verified program," said Citrix Mobility Solutions and Alliances Vice President Chris Fleck in a prepared statement. "IT will have the necessary security and access policies they need, while giving end-users the mobile access to the enterprise applications and data they rely on to do their jobs."
