Bluebox Security Releases BYOD Solution

Bluebox Security launched its first mobile data security solution, which it said will protect corporate data across any mobile application on Apple (AAPL) iOS or Google (GOOG) Android, allowing enterprises the peace of mind to let employees use their mobile devices wherever and however they want.

Bluebox Security guarantees end users will have complete separation of personal and work usage of their mobile devices via a transparent privacy dashboard that allows them to see what activity IT is tracking, according to the press release. Users can access any app without having to worry about security compromises via the program’s Instant App Protect feature. What’s more, corporate data is dynamically encrypted on the device and in applications and can detect and protect against tampering and jailbreak attempts to the device, the company noted.

“Data goes everywhere in today’s mobile world,” said Caleb Sima, co-founder and CEO of Bluebox Security, “and you can’t secure what you can’t see. We built Bluebox based on feedback from enterprises and employees, which boiled down to two success drivers. First, provide visibility and security of the data so that enterprises trust they are protected on mobile.  Second, provide a native and transparent user experience that aligns with the demands of today’s mobile workers. Now CISOs and employees are partners in enabling mobile security.”

Bluebox is one of several companies to take aim at growing mobile security concerns for the burgeoning bring-your-own-device (BYOD) movement. Other companies are making similar moves—AirWatch and FeedHenry recently announced a partnership to release a joint solution to enable companies to create mobile enterprise applications through the AirWatch app catalog.

In short, the market for mobile device security has never been better.

With companies increasingly focusing on locking down mobile device security, BYOD is definitely here to stay. More companies are sure to follow in Bluebox’s footprints, with increased options for buyers and continually improving mobile security. These results are sure to be welcomed by the channel.
