Savvis, the cloud-infrastructure and hosted IT solutions provider acquired by CenturyLink last year, has completed its acquisition of certain assets of Ciber’s IT outsourcing business.
The deal is for $6 million in cash, plus potential additional future consideration based on financial performance through December 2013.
Savvis and Ciber, a global information technology consulting and managed services company, announced the purchase agreement on July 31. The assets include client and vendor relationships, infrastructure, technology and facilities spanning North America, Europe and India.
"Savvis’ acquisition of Ciber’s ITO assets enhances and expands our capabilities in areas such as application-management services and help-desk support, while also increasing our client base and vendor associations," said Jim Ousley, chief executive officer of Savvis and president of CenturyLink’s enterprise markets group. "The Ciber clients we attained through this acquisition benefit from direct access to Savvis’ global footprint, services and account teams, plus the enhanced communications services provided through CenturyLink’s robust global network."
Savvis says the deal builds on the reseller relationship formed in 2011 that enabled Ciber to leverage Savvis’ worldwide data centers and network capacity to serve the growing needs of Ciber’s clients. Savvis has more than 50 data centers throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
