IT solutions provider ConvergeOne has purchased systems integrator Spanlink Communications.

The deal’s terms were not disclosed, as both companies are privately held.

Meantime, because Spanlink focuses on the UC and contact center markets, ConvergeOne has renamed Spanlink as ConvergeOne Collaboration. Now, ConvergeOne’s areas of specialty include UC, mobility, VoIP, converged networking, contact centers, server/storage consolidation and management, as well as consulting, and managed and professional services.

ConvergeOne works with vendors including Avaya, Cisco, IBM and Microsoft, while the former Spanlink’s suppliers include Cisco, eGain, NICE and Zoom International.

“This acquisition is a natural progression in ConvergeOne’s ongoing strategy to meet customer needs by delivering best-of-breed solutions across all of the leading technology platforms,” said John McKenna, chairman and CEO of ConvergeOne.

ConvergeOne Communications is led by ConvergeOne President Paul Maier. Eric LeBow, former Spanlink CEO, now serves as managing director of ConvergeOne Collaboration. He reports to Maier.

“We are very excited about joining ConvergeOne,” said LeBow. “Not only are we partnering with a team that matches our business ethics and our employee and customer satisfaction philosophies, we are also gaining access to a broader distribution network and added investments in managed services and portfolio development.”

Spanlink’s existing customers will work with the same people and also get access to ConvergeOne’s portfolio.

ConvergeOne is based in Connecticut; the ConvergeOne Collaboration unit is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn. ConvergeOne says it serves more than 4,000 customers in a variety of industries. The company operates three NOCs.
