TWCBC Adds Ethernet Over HFC to Partner Program Portfolio

Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) (Booth 1320), the business-to-business unit of Time Warner Cable (TWC), is broadening its services portfolio available to agents in its partner program with the addition of business-class Ethernet, a data networking solution over its hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network.

TWCBC is announcing the availability of business-class Ethernet at the Spring 2009 Channel Partners Conference & Expo, the venue where the partner program launched in 2008.

Business-class Ethernet — designed primarily for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) or those without fiber — gives millions of companies a cost-effective alternative to legacy private data networking solutions. It complements TWCBC’s existing, award-winning, carrier-class, fiber-based Ethernet services for enterprise customers.

“Business-class Ethernet provides agents with a high-quality solution for business customers,” said Ken Fitzpatrick, senior vice president, Time Warner Cable Business Services. “Time Warner Cable has earned accolades for our Ethernet leadership, and we are thrilled to offer this HFC version to our agents.”

One of the first agents to sell business class Ethernet is WINC Communications of Buffalo, N.Y. Michael Mosey, vice president — operations, WINC Communications, said, “I am very pleased with the results of the point-to-point business-class Ethernet service. Some of the reasons this product was appealing to us are its scalability, affordability and reliability — and it is all on one network. The ease of doing business and the ordering provisioning process are exceptional.”

Business-class Ethernet, which utilizes Time Warner Cable’s extensive broadband infrastructure to deliver Ethernet services, joins three other services in the partner program portfolio: high-speed broadband Internet; business-class phone; and metro Ethernet over fiber.

TWCBC is a widely-recognized leader in developing Ethernet services and standards. In 2008, the company was selected by the Metro Ethernet Forum as a North American Carrier Ethernet Service Provider of the Year in the Services Innovation category. It was one of the first service providers to receive both MEF-9 and MEF-14 certification.
