In an effort to help U.S.-based partners get on board with managed services, Tech Data on Tuesday introduced AccessEMM, a portfolio of enterprise mobility managed services that include mobile device management-as-a-service, cloud Wi-Fi, augmented reality services and wireless services.

This move by Tech Data is designed to motivate more partners to offer customers subscription-based, as-a-service IT models without having to incur the risk and cost of building and executing a managed service provider (MSP) practice from scratch.

“Consumption of technology in subscription-based, operational expenditure and ‘as-a-service’ models are on the rise as companies strive to achieve better efficiencies, lower costs and increase flexibility,” said Harish Sathisan, director of mobility, Americas, at Tech Data.

With managed services consuming bigger portions of customer IT budgets, savvy partners will recognize the trend and remain relevant and profitable, he said.

Some benefits of the new AccessEMM offering that partners can expect include: recurring revenue, ability to expand existing mobility offerings or add new ones; protection of customer base as clients shift their IT spend to as-a-service models; higher margins and increased revenue; and additional business opportunities, Tech Data said.

The AccessEMM portfolio of enterprise mobility managed services builds upon Tech Data’s existing cloud and security managed services offering, as well as application development offerings in conjunction with Kony Inc., an enterprise mobility and digital applications company.

And why stop there? In addition to mobility, partners can leverage in-depth expertise in complementary technology market segments, including cloud; cognitive computing; the data center; data analytics; the Internet of Things (IoT); security and enterprise networking; and training and education, further expanding their business, the distributor points out.

Tech Data scheduled a webinar – AccessEMM – to help partners learn more about the new portfolio of managed services, how to sell enterprise mobility managed services, expand their managed service offers and make their business more relevant to today’s customer. Partners will also learn about the different offerings in AccessEMM.

Earlier this year, Tech Data closed on a $2.6 billion purchase of Avnet Technology Solutions.
