CenturyLink has signed a global partnership agreement with SAP to offer premium supplier services for the software provider’s HANA Enterprise Cloud.

CenturyLink's Mahesh DalviThrough the agreement, CenturyLink is now one of only five service providers that supports SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, said Justin Lopinot, CenturyLink spokesman. The telco says its infrastructure and IT services capabilities will help expand the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud offering and help customers achieve faster time to market for transformation projects based on HANA.

Mahesh Dalvi, CenturyLink’s director of new practice development and technology planning, tells Channel Partners that through this agreement, “ … there are opportunities for our technology partners.”

“As there’s demand for CenturyLink-hosted SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, we will have needs for our partners to help us with compute, storage, network and related technologies, for example,” he said.

“SAP HANA enables companies to make real-time, informed decisions about their business,” said Gary Gauba, CenturyLink Cognilytics president. “With the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud service, we further help businesses move their enterprise applications to the cloud and innovate using the latest-generation applications based on SAP HANA.”{ad}

CenturyLink is equipped to support the “fast-growing area of analytics from both consultative and solution-based approaches,” Dalvi said.

“We have an amazing IT services organization, including the December 2014 acquisition of Cognilytics, that we believe will play a huge role in our company’s future growth,” he said. “We work very closely with SAP. Our agreement announced today for SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud just furthers our partnering relationship.”

CenturyLink’s Global IT services group provides a range of technology-enabled business services, including cloud enablement, big data as a service, managed security application development and modernization, and disaster recovery services.

“CenturyLink’s expansive IT services and network capabilities provide businesses with extensive geographic coverage and essential components of enterprise-grade IT services,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, SAP’s executive vice president, head of business development and strategic ecosystem. “These are key attributes for businesses that rely on the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud service for their mission-critical applications.”
