OS33 Helps Florida MSP Launch Its Cloud Business

OS33

Rewind to December, 2010: IT delivery automation specialist OS33 announced the Quick Start Program, designed to give MSPs an on-ramp to developing a cloud business. Fast forward to today, and OS33 is ready to announce its first success story, with Florida-based service provider Nerds Support going from demo to on-boarding cloud customers in just under a month. OS33 is clearly hoping this is the first of many wins.

As a quick refresher, the OS33 Quick Start Program is a traditional channel partner program for MSPs with a twist: all of its training, sales, and marketing tools are designed for the cloud novice. A key part of the offering is that it’s rebrandable and ready for demoing in as little as 24 hours. In the case of Nerds Support, it was more like 48 hours, but that’s splitting hairs.

According to Nerds Support Founder Scott Richman, the company was looking for a cloud-based, productivity-boosting document management and collaboration solutions that they could resell to their customers, and what Citrix was offering just wasn’t cutting it. That’s when Richman says they turned to OS33 and its cloud services catalog. And a huge benefit was the fact that OS33’s trademark WebTop service portal GUI integrated with the server infrastructure Nerds Support already had.

Richman says that Nerds Support still has a lot to learn about the cloud. They’ve moved two customers to the cloud since February, but it wasn’t without difficulty. But Richman was confident that when a third customer signed up, it would go smoother than the second, which itself went smoother than the third. And Richman was adamant that you can’t afford to put off that learning any longer if you’re a service provider.

The larger story is the continuation of vendors reaching out to solutions providers, helping them transition to cloud integrators.
