HP Debuts LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud for Performance Testing

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has introduced a new cloud-based application performance testing solution for the enterprise designed to give customers a more cost-effective way to deliver deliver high-quality applications. The new solution is called HP LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud, and qualified HP partners can leverage HP’s on-demand cloud service model to deliver performance testing for Web 2.0, AJAX and other mobile applications.

HP Software Global Senior Director of Marketing and IT Performance Applications Matt Morgan [pictured] said HP’s latest application performance offering is a good compliment to its other on-premise, SaaS and managed services solutions for performance validation. During a conversation in early February 2012, Morgan said HP is giving its customers more performance applications to choose from so they can find the offering that best meets their testing requirements, timeline and budgets.

When HP customers couple their LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud with an HP partner’s cloud infrastructure, they can expect faster time-to-market, simpler performance testing and a more comprehensive view of their entire system’s performance, according to HP. Currently, LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud is available to customers in the United States and Canada.

HP LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud is one portion of HP’s greater IT Performance Suite. Recently we heard more development news within the HP IT performance Suite from Jimmy Augustine, group product manager of Configuration Management Database for HP Software, concerning HP’s Discovery and Dependency Mapping Inventory Advanced Edition (DDMA). We haven’t gotten any specifics on partner requirements for selling LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud or other HP IT solutions, but both Augustine and Morgan said company partners will play a significant role in 2012 it terms of selling HP IT solutions. I expect to hear more about channel involvement at the HP Global Partner Conference 2012, Feb. 13-15 in Las Vegas.
