What Can You Learn from Wikipedia?

Many of us check Wikipedia from time to time for quick information. But for the rock solid intelligence that you need to run your business, industry conferences are invaluable. Datto is holding its first, and there's a discount available for MSPmentor readers. Check out the details here.

What Can You Learn from Wikipedia?

By Datto Guest Blog 2

“Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject, so you know you are getting the best possible information.”  So said character Michael Scott in Season 3 of The Office.

While we’ve all relied on a quick Wiki for a definition or quick information check, it’s not the source you rely on for business guidance. As a B2B marketing exec I rely on a variety of sources for information, in a variety of formats–in print, online and in person.

As a Managed Service Provider (MSP) your information needs are even greater.  You must stay on top of technical advancements and product news as well as sales and marketing strategies. No doubt much of your information is gathered here at MSPmentor. I know many Datto Partners rely on it.

Another source of guidance is conferences. In particular, vendor partner events. This year Datto decided to hold its first Partner Conference, in part to thank our loyal Partners for making Datto their BDR solution of choice. It’s a privilege to work in the Channel, and we’re happy for the opportunity to bring together our ever-growing community of Partners, Datto team, industry visionaries, strategic partners and media leaders.

Part of planning our first Partner Conference is creating an Agenda that’s worth travelling for. And we did. Our founder, Austin McChord, will share the vision for the next wave of Datto. And believe me, it’s a tidal wave.  Other keynotes include Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, Steve Herrod, former CTO of VMware, and Raj Goel, CISSP, MSP owner and compliance expert. And Joe Panettieri, you may know him from MSPmentor, will lead a panel of top Datto Partners to discuss the secrets of their success.

We’re also thrilled to have many of the strategic vendors Datto works with, including Autotask, AVG Technologies / Level Platforms, Kroll Ontrack, DSS Data Center, ASCII and MSPmentor.  They will be on-site and available for Q&A. Take advantage of having all these valuable resources under one roof.

Datto Partners represent some of the most successful MSPs in the market. If you’re already a Partner, make sure you’re registered. If you’re not a Partner yet, what a better way to see what being a Datto Partner means.

When you register be sure to use the special discount code we created specifically for the MSPmentor audience, to save $100 on your registration fee. Enter the code “MSPMENTOR13” when you register.

I look forward to meeting you in D.C. this September.

Holly Wainwright is Director of Marketing at Datto.
