Quosal's Kent McNall took MSPmentor on a tour of its Order Porter feature when we sat down with him at the recent IT Nation event. Here's what we learned about the technology and Quosal's future roadmap.

At the ConnectWise IT Nation user conference last week, MSPmentor had the opportunity to catch up with many of the executives from ConnectWise Capital companies. Among them was Kent McNall, co-founder and CEO of Quosal, who gave me a demo of Order Porter and told me about how integration with other cloud-based software and leveraging sales acceleration technology is playing into the company’s future plans. Here are the details.
The demo was the first time I’d actually seen Order Porter in action. McNall showed me how sales reps can use Quosal not only to create sales quotes but also to create secured (with deep web addressing) landing pages for each individual prospect or customer.
Creating a customer experience
These landing pages let sales reps create an ecommerce shopping cart of the suggestions on what the customer should buy.
“The net result is as a customer you are receiving an experience instead of a PDF,” McNall said.
Reps can prepare quotes and attach them to the page as downloadable PDFs. Customers can execute their agreements from the page. Reps can also record short video messages for customers and place them on the page. They can also choose from a library of videos to explain different products or technologies to customers.
“One of the things we are doing is giving our users the ability to manage a video library,” McNall said. “Now you have a library of videos and you can control what is shown to customers on the landing page. That is coming in Q1.”
So what’s else is coming up for Quosal going forward? ConnectWise CEO Arnie Bellini’s keynote featured some previews of new Quosal features, including the capability to capture digital signatures on contracts via mobile devices. McNall told me that Quosal has been heavily focused on creating a new level of integration with ConnectWise.
“People love that because it’s tightly integrated,” he said. “That’s what we are really after for our partners. They don’t know that they are moving from one application to another.”
Beyond the ConnectWise integration, Quosal has also created integrations with Salesforce.com, NetSuite and Microsoft CRM.
Sales acceleration technology
McNall told me that Quosal itself is a sales acceleration technology, which he explained is a technology for driving the speed, efficiency and predictability of sales within the context of an individual business. Video messages are a sales acceleration technology, he said. Sales compensation and gamification can also be leveraged as sales acceleration technologies, he said.
To help organizations get up to speed with using videos as part of the sales process, Quosal has created a set of best practices, McNall said.
“You are not putting together a training course as part of your quote,” he said. “Videos should be 30 to 60 seconds. The real challenge to get over is that people are self-conscious.”
But the addition of video has been a welcome one to Quosal. “People receiving the videos love them. Some of our customers have told us that people purchased because of the videos,” McNall said.
Other Quosal developments
McNall said Quosal has experienced big growth recently. In June the company moved from a 3,500 square foot location to a 15,000 square foot location in Seattle. The company is currently at 45 employees, having doubled year over year. McNall expects the employee number will double again in 2015.
