Yankee Group, xchange Present Best of 4G Awards

xchange magazine and Yankee Group Research Inc. presented the Best of 4G Awards to four distinguished recipients in five categories today during ceremonies at the 4G World Conference and Expo in Chicago. The awards recognize leaders in the development, deployment and service of next-generation telecom technology.
Nominations were open to all parties involved in 4G technology, products and services and submitted through an online nomination form that was accessible from the xchange Web site July 1 through July 31. Winners were selected by a panel of third-party analysts and researchers.
The Best of 4G Award winners are:
Best 4G Enabling Technology Innovation: DragonWave Inc. for the DragonWave Horizon Packet Microwave Solution
Best WiMAX Network Deployment: Clearwire for the CLEAR 4G Service
Best Mobile Internet Application: Bridgewater Systems for Bridgewater’s myPolicy Solution
Best Mobile Internet Device: Samsung Telecommunications America for the Samsung Mondi
Best Backhaul Deployment: Clearwire for the Clearwire 4G WiMAX Backhaul Network
The final selection of winners was made by the Best of 4G selection committee that consisted of Berge Ayvazian, senior adviser and principal consultant for Yankee Group; Adlane Fellah, CEO and founder of Maravedis Inc.; Caroline Gabriel, research director for Rethink Research; Phil Marshall, vice president of enabling technologies, for Yankee Group; Craig Mathias, principal, Farpoint Group; Andy Mitchell, technical editor for Yankee Group; and Jennifer Pigg, vice president of enabling technologies for Yankee Group.
“The innovation and effort that have been demonstrated by all finalists and nominees reflect the leadership that continues to drive opportunity and benefits throughout the emerging 4G industry,” said Eliot Weinman, conference chair and president of the Events Division of Yankee Group.
