Snowflake just expanded its Partner Network to include two new partner types after launching just over a year ago.

The Snowflake Partner Network (SPN) now includes data partners and Powered by Snowflake partners. Snowflake is a data cloud provider.

Data partners are companies that make their data sets available through the Snowflake marketplace. That allows customers and other partners to act on the data. Snowflake announced more than 140 data partners already active on the marketplace.

Powered by Snowflake is a new program for SaaS application vendors. They can build multitenant, customer-facing applications where Snowflake powers the analytics.

Data-Driven Program

Colleen Kapase is Snowflake‘s senior vice president of worldwide partner and alliances.

“The SPN celebrated it’s one-year anniversary with hundreds of partners — across technology and services partners,” she said. “In addition, our partner program is the first live data-driven program that is objective about the health of our partner business. This means an accurate evaluation of the effectiveness of our partnerships as they scale up, in real time, and a consistent, objective view with the ability to accurately measure partner performance and customer impacts.”

Adding the new partner types is critical to support the growth of the data cloud, an $80 billion total available market (TAM) Kapase said. As Snowflake scales to deliver the data cloud, the company needs to support the scale and types of partners.

“As you can see with over 140 data partners and dozens of Powered By Snowflake partners, these new partner type introductions were very much driven by demand in the market,” she said.

Snowflake designed the entire SPN program with and for partners, Kapase said.

“The changes to the program to be data-driven is Snowflake drinking it’s own champagne, but also treats partners objectively based on value, which they very much like,” she said.

Better Experience for Partners

The SPN programs are designed to give partners a better experience in working with Snowflake, Kapase said.

“This means better alignment between the partner and our sales teams and professional services, better deal visibility, better training and certification and access to knowledge, and finally a real-time view into partner performance through the dashboards,” she said. “All these will give both our partners and Snowflake a competitive advantage in working with our customers.”
