More MSP Software Providers: Making Their Moves?

Just when you thought the MSP software market had reached its saturation point, two more software companies are jumping into the pool. Both firms are SaaS-oriented and focus on remote monitoring and management. One of the companies got its start in Australia and New Zealand. The other is a major U.S. software provider that apparently will move into the managed services software market within 24 hours. Here are the details.

First, the startup: Naverisk Ltd. claims to be building a following among MSPs in New Zealand and Australia. The company, founded in 2007, had a “very successful launch” across “Australasian” markets and is gearing up for international expansion, according to CEO Jon Kalaugher. As part of that effort, the company has hired MSP veteran Mark Checksfield as the Naverisk ANZ Sales and Marketing Manager.

A spokesperson for Naverisk says the company cloud be “a giant slayer in the RMM marketplace for MSPs.” And Checksfield claims “The Naverisk solution is proving to be the best value Remote Monitoring and Management tool around for the SMB market and is accordingly now attracting clients and interest from around the globe.”

Those are bold clams that need clarification and further fact-finding. Frankly, I haven’t heard much buzz about Naverisk — though I’m blogging from a Miami hotel room about an MSP software company on the other side of the globe. I must concede: I don’t have a good feel for Naverisk’s installed base, employee headcount, annual revenues and profitability. But I’ve sent a note to Naverisk seeking more company details.

In the meantime, Naverisk faces plenty of competition on the home front. A prime example: N-able CEO Gavin Garbutt will visit Australia March 8-12 for a four-city “Power Your Success” road show. The event series will cover common MSP pain points including how to acquire new customers, grow business with existing customers and effectively market and sell IT-as-a-service.

Big U.S. Company Moves In

Elsewhere, I think it’s safe to expect a major U.S. software company to dive into the network monitoring and MSP software market within the next 24 hours or so. The move apparently will involve a small but very strategic acquisition. I think the deal could potentially be a wake-up call for VARs that haven’t yet given remote management a try.
