As vice president for worldwide partners and channels at Progress, Kim is responsible for the strategic direction, management and success of the Progress partner community. She focuses on enabling Progress Partners to grow their overall revenue, while recruiting new partners into the ecosystem and Progress community.
Prior to her time at Progress, Kim served as GM-SVP of Worldwide Channels and Alliances at Compuware Corporation. All told, she has over 20 years of experience in building channel programs to help partners grow.
Number of channel partners: 2300
Age of partner program: 4 years
Percentage of revenue driven through channel: 72%
New partners building solutions and pushing the boundaries. Anyone can run a program, but striving to incorporate new solutions multiple partners and technology makes it repeatable and drives you toward the next challenge.
Lack of engagement from partners and internal resources. For me, it’s all about being part of the change, not looking for excuses not to make changes or talk about why change is not possible. Anything is possible if you put in the effort.
If I had a magic wand, I would build all our systems to support the channel first. I spend most of my time either taking what was built and modifying it for the channel, or re-working content to make our partners more effective.
The market has shifted as companies pursue digital transformation and if you are not a key player with a seat at the table you won’t be a channel chief. Our roles need to evolve more than ever, and we must use technology to our advantage. We can’t be afraid to speak up and ask for what we want for our partners and our programs. Remember, we are our partners’ biggest advocates. We must have a voice.

At this point in my life, this quote reminds me of who I want to spend time with and how I want to spend my time.
