This week The VAR Guy brings you the latest partner program news from Concur, SUSE, IOGEAR and Plexxi.
Open source software provider SUSE delivers a cloud-based Linux Enterprise Server, which is now available on Microsoft Azure. In addition, it's provided a free version of the server in the Azure Marketplace through Microsoft's Test Drive program, the first commercially supported Linux for high performance computing that's come through the initiative.
“With SUSE’s integration into the Enterprise Cloud Alliance, organizations have improved access to the reliability and security of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server – including unique workloads such as SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for High Performance Computing – on the Azure cloud,” said Naji Almahmoud, vice president of cloud and software alliances for SUSE. “SUSE’s growth on Azure means more options for customers. It is yet another indicator of SUSE’s commitment to helping enterprise customers be successful.”
Application-defined network provider Plexxi has partnered with Aligned Data Centers, a colocation provider that offers a consumption-based pricing model, offering users on-demand data storage needs. The collaboration delivers an integrated network and data center alternative that can be consumed as a service
"Aligned Data Centers re-invented traditional data center architecture,” said Plexxi CEO Rich Napolitano. “They’ve built the world’s first true application-defined data center from top to bottom, including power, space and cooling that adjusts based on customer application requirements and densities. This has never been done before, and truly revolutionizes the cost model of building reliable data centers. IT executives are looking to drastically reduce energy consumption in their data centers, and this partnership enhances Aligned’s transformative pay-for-use model.”
Good news for cloud solution providers, next-generation VARs and traditional IT partners that service small- and medium-sized business (SMB) customers. Leading travel, expense and invoice management solution provider Concur has debuted its Solution Provider program in the U.S. and Canada. SMBs represent Concur's fastest growing customer segment, and the new program will help the company continue to expand that revenue stream through the channel.
“Travel and expense is the second-largest area of controllable business spend – a challenge especially significant to SMBs. With a partner-focused initiative like the Concur Solution Provider program, we can help partners expand the value they provide SMBs while driving business growth and profitability,” said Christal Bemont, SVP and GM of SMB and National Accounts, Concur.
Sachin Vora, who previously led SMB channel activities for Microsoft, has joined Concur to lead the program.
