Happy Thursday! It’s time for the Channel Partner Program Roundup, our weekly look at what’s happening in channel partner land. This week, as we keep an eye out for Peter Cottontail, we’re also looking at news from VMware (VMW), Nexenta and Voxox, so grab your basket and let’s find those Easter eggs.
VMware: Laura Davis has joined VMware as director of Public Sector Channels, leading a nationwide sales team to drive strategy and execution with VMware’s federal, state, local and education channel partner ecosystem. Davis joins VMware from NetApp (NTAP), where she built and led the sales team responsible for increasing the market share in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region.
Prior to NetApp, Davis spent nine years at Cisco Systems (CSCO) in various leadership roles, most recently as director of Cisco’s Federal Partner Operation, driving momentum around federal priorities such as cloud and cybersecurity, Cisco architectures, and partner-developed solutions. Prior to Cisco, Davis held leadership roles in the channel partner community, running lines of business for top-tier vendors including Nortel, Avaya and Alcatel.
Nexenta: The software-defined storage (SDS) vendor announced the expansion of its EMEA operations with the opening of a new office in Paris, led by Philippe Bruiant. The office will drive Nexenta’s business development and marketing efforts across southern Europe. To support the launch, it has also appointed a leading distributor in the region, Feeder, to drive its channel growth strategy.
Feeder is an IT value-added distributor in southern France that works with a number of brands including Panasonic, Epson and Nvidia. Using its network of resellers, Feeder has an aggressive plan to recruit resellers to complement Nexenta’s existing portfolio of local partners.
Voxox: The cloud-based communication service provider has named Joe Schiavone as national channel manager. He is tasked with further developing and growing the company's channel partner program for business cloud services, including hosted IP-PBX, SIP trunking, high-volume SMS and the company's new virtual PBX service, Cloud Phone.
Schiavone joins Voxox with more than 28 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, specifically in distribution channel development. Most recently, Schiavone held the post of VP of channel sales, Hosted PBX and Cloud Technology at FreedomVoice Communications.
Prior to this he was president of M5 Technologies, where he developed a U.S. and international distribution and dealer channel. Schiavone spent the early part of his career with Teleco Toshiba.
And that is the Channel Partner Program Roundup for this week. Enjoy your Peeps, peeps, and until next week, stay safe.
