ATLANTIC-ACM Delivers Global Wholesale Carrier Excellence Awards

ATLANTIC-ACM, a telecommunications industry research and consulting firm, delivered its 2005 Global Wholesale Carrier Excellence Awards at the CompTel/ASCENT Fall Convention and Expo.

The awards, presented by ATLANTIC-ACM CEO Dr.  Judy Reed Smith, were based on results from the 2005 edition of ATLANTIC-ACMs Global Wholesale Carrier Report Card, which evaluates the performance of wholesale carriers from ratings by their resale customers. Carriers were rated on billing, provisioning, network, customer service, sales representation, products and pricing.

iBasis Inc. took top honors for billing and provisioning. iBasis also tied with MCI Inc. for the top ranking in customer service, AT&T for sales representation and Sprint for products. Telefonica S.A. led the pack for pricing. The Spanish carrier tied with MCI on network quality.

The winners were as follows:

  • Billing: iBasis

  • Provisioning: iBasis

  • Network: Telefonica, MCI

  • Customer Service: MCI, iBasis

  • Sales Reps: AT&T, iBasis

  • Products: Sprint, iBasis

  • Pricing: Telefonica
