Astaro Puts Focus on Unified Threat Management Solutions
Internet security company Astaro is looking to dive deeper into the channel with three new security products. Astaro Application Control, Astaro Log Management and Astaro Endpoint Security are the stars of the show this time around, and Astaro says the new lineup is part of an ongoing commitment to next-generation unified threat management solutions. Read on for the details …
Like most security companies, Astaro stressed the threat landscape is becoming increasingly more complex, with Web 2.0 threats and other exotic attacks that sap away data. As the threats evolve, so must the protection. The new lineup features are as follows:
- Astaro Application Control: Provides deeper visibility into Internet usage, Web 2.0 blocking (such as Facebook) and a granular level of control over specific applications and user accessibility to all or part of said applications. Astaro is also billing this as a productivity boon since web apps can be filtered down to specific features needed for work.
- Astaro Log Management: Users of Astaro Security Gateway now can centrally store and analyze log data from all systems and applications while tracking, alerting and automating protection policies. Troubleshooting time can be reduced by 80 percent, the company claims.
- Astaro Endpoint Security: Extends data leakage protection all the way to the USB port, DVD drive or any other peripheral, all centrally managed via the Astaro Security Gateway. Additionally, remote devices can be tracked for data compliance, and tracking is enabled for lost or stolen devices.
Availability and training hasn’t been officially announced, but they’re all on track for 2011. We’ll keep tabs on Astaro as its launches go live.
