PRESS RELEASE — LAS VEGAS — Ten months after its SIP-trunking service achieved partner certification at Microsoft Skype for Business’s most elite level, NuWave Communications is expanding on that successful partnership in a big way. Beginning August 1, Skype for Business is serving as the primary platform for NuWave’s hosted unified communications products, which comprise enterprise voice, IM, presence, audio and video conferencing, web collaboration, screen sharing and federation.

“This shift onto the robust Skype for Business platform allows NuWave to offer enterprise clients a true one-stop shop for secure and reliable Unified Communications that are fully integrated and customizable,” NuWave CEO Shawn Sims said.

The new platform will eliminate enterprises’ need for on-premise PBX hardware, reducing equipment costs for NuWave’s customers while speeding infrastructure deployment, Sims said. Meanwhile, NuWave’s carrier-grade network will continue to provide the optimal uptime and reliability customers have come to expect from the Las-Vegas-based telephony provider, backed by 24-hour support and U.S.-based, georedundant hosting in Tier IV datacenters.{ad}

“We look forward to this rollout as a new opportunity to continue helping enterprises drive down costs and minimize complexity while also developing an effective, centralized strategy for their Unified Communications,” Sims said.

Skype for Business marries the familiar interface of Skype with advanced integration, large-scale support and enterprise-grade security. NuWave is one of only a handful of U.S. partners and only 15 worldwide certified by Microsoft to deliver Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure RTP (SRTP), the strongest commercial encryption protocols available. NuWave’s advanced security features exceed compliance standards for HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, PCI, government and military networks.

Founded in 1998, NuWave Communications is a wholesale and retail telephony provider with service offerings spanning the globe and a fiber-optic network covering the continental United States. NuWave specializes in Unified Communications solutions, domestic and international toll-free origination and domestic and international termination, and is one of the few UC providers to host services on its own world-class, carrier-grade network. NuWave, along with its subsidiaries, owns a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) in 45 states, with global operations service in 58 countries.
