Edgewater Networks' Latest SBC Brings VoIP, UC to SMBs

With the EdgeMarc 250, Edgewater is looking to cover all the bases in branch and SMB VoIP needs with an “application aware” firewall, protocol mediation, real-time traffic shaping for video and voice conferencing, and the ability to monitor traffic in real time for understanding, optimizing and fixing VoIP issues. The EdgeMarc 250 supports up to 10 devices simultaneously and also comes equipped with standard VoIP and UC technology including SIP trunking and the ability to do “enterprise-level” video, plus the added bonus of supporting analog phone and PBX linking into the IP environment.

The price listing for the EdgeMarc 250 can vary, but starts at an easy $375, but can go up to $652 depending on a user’s needs. Edgewater hasn’t traditionally been our radar, but we’ll be sure to keep tabs on their UC momentum, especially since the company has partnered with more well-known companies such as Polycom and Mitel.
