Netsurion on Wednesday unveiled a new integration between its EventTracker security operations center (SOC) as-a-service and documentation platform provider IT Glue.

The move provides Netsurion’s MSP partners with access to streamlined reports designed to demonstrate security and compliance to customers.

A.N. Ananth, Netsurion’s chief strategy officer, tells us that by integrating EventTracker with IT Glue, MSPs are able to: gain improved security with a single view of IT assets and related security threats; maintain continual compliance and reduce related audit time; and free up senior staff for senior-level tasks by allowing junior staff to manage IT documentation and security threats.

In terms of Netsurion’s strategy of being the “MSSP for MSPs,” this integration is an “important step in our effort to make cybersecurity simpler for MSPs by integrating with the systems they use every day,” such as remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA), he said.

“The biggest issue for MSPs is in trying to quickly become a cybersecurity specialist when the space naturally required deep specialized expertise and 24/7 monitoring, but is exacerbated by the highly fragmented cybersecurity technology marketplace,” Ananth said. “The result is many MSPs don’t even know where to begin when going beyond basic prevention with firewall and antivirus solutions. They struggle to weed through and understand the gaps and overlaps of various threat detection and response solutions. EventTracker by Netsurion takes a ‘best of suite’ approach instead of a ‘best of breed’ approach so that MSPs can act like MSSPs overnight with our easily deployed cloud security information and event management (SIEM) software backed by our 24/7 SOC. This integration accelerates that process even more — by moving the threat data and compliance documentation into the tools they already know.”

Integration and automation remove manual inefficiencies and the potential for errors or security gaps, he said. This is something Netsurion’s MSP partners have been asking for.

“We’re thrilled to have this integration in place with Netsurion,” said Nadir Merchant, IT Glue‘s general manager. “As the industry-standard for IT documentation worldwide, we know that security and threat protection are top of mind for MSPs and leveraging our open platform with integrations like Netsurion helps increase our partners’ value to their clients, which is our primary goal.”
