Granite Telecommunications and 128 Technology have partnered around managed SD-WAN.

The partnership pits the 128 Technology SD-WAN offering with Granite’s managed communication services. Granite offers managed SD-WAN services for a variety of platforms, including VMware and Cisco. It will add 128’s Session Smart Router, which delivers service-centric segmentation and zero-trust security. Granite designs and deploys customer solutions and manages them using its network operations center.

The companies say joint customers can use less bandwidth while saving money as a result of the partnership.

128 Technology’s Andy Ory

“Granite is known for ensuring its customers can reliably and efficiently package complete communications solutions that are easy to use and quick to return value on investments,” 128 Technology CEO Andy Ory said. “We’re thrilled to be working so closely with a company that shares our commitment to customer value.”

We wrote two weeks ago about master agent Telarus tapping Granite to deliver managed VMware SD-WAN at its office. Granite also offers wireless WAN, SIP trunking, mobile device management, managed security and other services.

Granite’s Chris Chapin

Granite chief information officer Chris Chapin said his company provides custom SD-WAN solutions tailored to customers’ unique needs. Granite targets multilocation and government clients.

“With the addition of 128 Technology’s Session Smart Router SD-WAN, we can provide customers an even more complete set of communications solutions, giving them everything they need to support the growing use of high-performance business applications in the enterprise,” Chapin said.

Last month, Juniper Networks announced the $450 million purchase of 128 Technology. The buyer said 128 and previously purchased Mist Systems help Juniper provide “user-centric, AI-driven WAN.” The deal should close by the end of the year.
