Edge computing, virtualization and hyperconverged solution provider Scale Computing has named Dan Pierce and Marlena Fernandez to its executive team as a part of the company’s 2019 growth plan.

The two new hires advance Scale Computing’s mission to lead the way as the top edge and HCI solution for global organizations.

Scale Computing’s Dan Pierce

Pierce will serve as the vice president of strategic sales, responsible for Scale Computing’s rapidly growing global OEM business in licensing its IP to strategic partners. In addition, he will lead sales efforts in emerging markets, specifically Asia Pacific and Latin America. He brings 20 years of enterprise software sales and leadership experience with companies that include ProClarity, Microsoft, Clearwater Analytics and Calgary Scientific.  He also brings a wealth of business development experience, having structured and managed relationships with global OEMs that include Dell, Microsoft, Siemens, HP, Bank of America, IBM, McKesson and GE.

Scale Computing’s Marlena Fernandez

Fernandez will serve as vice president of marketing, responsible for content marketing, demand generation, brand management and the company’s go-to-market strategy. She has more than 20 years of global marketing experience helping organizations reach their business, branding and sales goals. Her past experience includes leadership roles at Symantec, Avoka, Seagate Technology and Oracle.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in February.

Scale Computing’s Jeff Ready

“Dan and Marlena both bring extensive experience to help propel our company’s growth worldwide, with retailers, distributed enterprises and SMBs,” said Jeff Ready, CEO of Scale Computing. “Our ability to successfully partner with OEMs was a big focus in 2018, as seen through our partnerships with Lenovo, BCDVideo, Ingram Micro and APC by Schneider Electric. Starting with that base, I expect this to be an exciting and continued area of high growth in 2019.”

Pierce and Fernandez will both work with Lenovo, a Scale Computing global OEM partner, on worldwide go-to-market strategies and sales and partner enablement.

Scale Computing says its plans for growth in 2019 will be fueled by global expansion, OEM partnerships, a channel program and expansion of the leadership team with members such as Price and Fernandez.
