Barracuda Networks is focusing on the EMEA MSP landscape with the appointment of channel veteran, Phil Sansom.

Sansom joins as new director business development and alliances at Barracuda MSP, the MSP-dedicated business unit of Barracuda Networks.

“Sansom will help extend Barracuda’s channel presence initially across EMEA,” said the company.

It added that the appointment “will enable Barracuda to remain focused on the ongoing success of their MSPs.”

“[He] will be focusing on the channel business, building Barracuda’s momentum in the landscape, and assisting partners and their customers on their cybersecurity journey,” the company added.

Sansom joins Barracuda from Continuity Marketing, but was previously EMEA managing director for IT Glue and channel development director for Datto. He also had a long tenure at Kaseya, where he became SVP, EMEA channel sales.

Barracuda MSP’s Phil Sansom

“Barracuda was a reminder of the first part of my journey in the MSP world with Kaseya in 2003,” said Samson. “Back then we were telling the MSP world how to do things differently, how to change their tactics for the evolving landscape. Over the last few years there has been a need to differentiate yourself within such a crowded MSP market. Barracuda is reigniting this — they are reverting back to the beginning, with new narratives, new tools and new conversations.”

“It’s not just about selling software with Barracuda; it’s about making a difference, and changing the MSP marketplace, a real train-the-trainer approach. Across the business as a whole, this enthusiasm is emulated by the entire team,” said Sansom. “It’s time for us to become the vendor in disguise and continue to push our mission to be the voice that MSPs need.”

MSPs Need to Be Cybersecurity-Centric

“Adding Phil to the team is just another step toward our continued innovation in the MSP landscape,” said Jason Howells, VP, MSP international sales at Barracuda MSP.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in February.

“We know that MSPs need to be more cybersecurity-centric moving forward. At Barracuda we are continuing to grow with the support of people like Phil and our amazing partners. We’re excited to see what the future holds after a stellar year.”
