Aruba Adds Financial Services Apps to WorkSpace MDM Solution

Wireless networking vendor Aruba Networks (ARUN) is giving its channel partners selling into the financial services space more fodder for their customers through seven new applications in its WorkSpace app ecosystem.

WorkSpace is a mobile device management solution that adds encryption and enterprise-grade security to apps to meet the regulatory requirements of various vertical industries (not to mention making them über-secure). Aruba noted WorkSpace incorporates split-key encryption “to ensure an application’s data can be maliciously accessed, even if the device is offline.”

The addition of seven new apps to WorkSpace is a boon to Aruba channel partners, providing them with a more complete solution they can take to their financial services customers looking to make the jump to mobility, BYOD or otherwise.

“Financial services firms are looking to capitalize on the productivity benefits that the BYOD trend offers, but they have stringent security and regulatory requirements that must be addressed first,” said Peter Cellarius, vice president of Business Development and Partnerships at Aruba, in a prepared statement. “In short, they must have a solid handle on the devices and applications connecting to their network. Combining Aruba WorkSpace with these popular financial services apps allows financial services firms to deliver all the productivity benefits of BYOD to their users without compromising the security of corporate applications and data that reside on employees’ personal mobile devices.”

The seven apps added to WorkSpace:

  • AsdeqDocs: An on-premise enterprise mobility content management solution that enables secure, seamless and dynamic synchronization of corporate documents to Android and iOS tablets and smartphones.

  • Calltrunk: Allows users to record mobile, landline and Skype recordings, saving all the recordings in one place and allowing them to search instantly for the words that were actually spoken.

  • Framehawk: A software platform that enables secure, high-performance application delivery to tablets.

  • Onvelop for Office 365 & Sharepoint: Provides a unified collaboration and communication suite that enables secure mobile access to enterprise server software such as Microsoft (MSFT) Office 365, SharePoint and Lync from Apple (AAPL) iOS and Google (GOOG) Android mobile devices.

  • PDF Expert Enterprise: A document management system that helps organizations set up a paperless workflow on mobile devices, allowing companies to replace paper documents with iPads for a wide range of tasks.

  • WatchDox: Enables enterprises to securely sync, share and work with their Office files wherever they need to go, even on devices beyond IT control.

  • Webalo: Mobilizes enterprise applications and data at an infrastructure level in minutes to deliver secure bi-directional, transactional interactivity faster and cheaper than traditional mobile application development.

These applications join SlideShark, which enables users to view and present Microsoft PowerPoint slides from Apple iOS devices.

With the myriad regulations surrounding the financial services industry, getting customers in the space to go mobile can be a tough row to hoe. Moves such as Aruba’s WorkSpace app additions serve to help its channel partners go deeper and extend the conversation, putting them one step closer to their ultimate goal.
