Dimension Data Buys TEM Provider Xigo

As communications services including mobility, the cloud and videoconferencing challenge enterprises to oversee and manage their contracts, inventory and usage, systems integrator Dimension Data has bought telecom expense management provider Xigo.

“The acquisition of Xigo … extends … beyond integration and management of technology,” said Steve Joubert, group executive of global solutions at Dimension Data. “Telecom expense management has grown to encompass the entire lifecycle of telecommunication services, including inventory and asset management, ordering and provisioning.”

Dimension Data didn’t say how much it paid for Xigo; however, the company did say it plans to increase Xigo’s market share in the United States, with the goal of rolling out the TEM provider’s platform in other countries.

Dimension Data and Xigo have worked together for more than five years, so the acquisition involves familiar people and processes. To that point, Xigo CEO Dave Spofford will continue to lead the Xigo team, reporting to Dimension Data’s Americas CEO, Jere Brown, on operations and to Joubert on strategy.

The transaction was effective on Jan. 18 but Dimension Data did not make the deal public until this week.
