Curvature has acquired third-party maintenance and support services provider CSU Industries for an undisclosed sum, the company announced last week. CSU’s integration with Curvature is expected to help the company expand its ability to provide customers with refurbished IT infrastructure and services for their network and data center environments.
Formerly known as Network Hardware Resale, Curvature specializes in providing vendor-agnostic IT infrastructure and operations services to admins looking for an alternative to purchasing brand new hardware. It offers “previously enjoyed” hardware—often hardware that has been discontinued and no longer can be purchased new—and recently added services to its portfolio. By acquiring longtime partner CSU Industries, Curvature hopes to drive new business opportunities and grow its third-party maintenance portfolio, including hybrid network services, data center consolitdations and end-of-life migrations.
“Curvature has been a strategic partner of ours for several years, as we’ve been utilizing them to enhance both our network support efforts as well as our network procurement needs,” said Avram Weissman, CEO of CSU Industries, in a statement. “We are thrilled to be taking our relationship to the next level with a company that shares our ‘Customer First’ philosophy.”
CSU’s operations and employees will be merged into Curvature’s global operations, according to the announcement. CSU will also retain its offices in Inwood, New York. Weissman will stay on CSU’s board for the next six months, but is planning to step down afterwards to pursue other opportunities, according to CRN.
“CSU Industries has a 34-year track record of service and support excellence, which will prove invaluable as we extend both the reach and depth of our third-party maintenance from the data center to the network and the cloud,” said Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of Curvature.
Network Hardware Resale changed its name to Curvature in July in an effort to convey a more all-inclusive sales model aside from third-party hardware sales.
