Peak 10 Expands Charlotte Data Center, Corporate Offices

PRESS RELEASE — CHARLOTTE, NC (August 30, 2016) – National IT infrastructure and cloud services provider, Peak 10, Inc., announced today the addition of 6,000 square feet of data center space to its University Research Park operations, to meet the growing customer demand for high-touch customer service and reliable colocation, cloud services and managed services solutions. The data center expansion will be part of Peak 10’s fourth data center in Charlotte – a 64,000 square-foot technology campus located at 10105 David Taylor Drive.

Additionally, the company is adding roughly 8,000 square feet of space to its corporate offices, located in South Charlotte at 8809 Lenox Pointe Drive, to make room for its growing corporate teams including development, product, operations and others. The expanded corporate office space will be contiguous to Peak 10’s current corporate offices. Construction on both projects is expected to be complete by early 2017.

“We are excited to be expanding here in Charlotte to support our customers and their growth.  We have many expansions going on currently at Peak 10 and all of them have one common goal in the end – customer service,” said Jeff Spalding, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Peak 10. “As is our custom, we continue to add premium data center space within our existing markets to accommodate our growing customer base and keep up with the demand for our services. Similarly, this demand also calls for added space to accommodate the staff who work diligently to innovate, develop, deliver, support and market these services to businesses of all sizes and across all industries.”{ad}

Peak 10’s operations at University Research Park opened in late 2012, with a 14,000 square foot facility making up the first phase of facility’s complete buildout. Charlotte companies like Chiquita, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and Premier, Inc. have placed their business-critical infrastructure inside the facility utilizing Peak 10’s colocation and cloud computing services. This data center facility also provides companies outside of Charlotte with Peak 10’s reliable, location-agnostic Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solutions.

Randy Franklin, vice president and chief information officer of Premier, Inc., stated “Peak 10 provides a deeply invested relationship that extends beyond the services listed on our contract.” Premier is a leading national healthcare solutions organization and Peak 10 customer utilizing colocation solutions for its production environment out of the company’s data center at University Research Park. It is among several Peak 10 customers whose rapid growth within Peak 10’s fourth data center in Charlotte prompted the need for additional raised floor to accommodate new and existing customer growth.

“Along with its deep network of partner relationships and competitive pricing, Peak 10 serves as a trusted collaborator to Premier,” added Franklin.

Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Peak 10 operates 27 data centers in key U.S. markets and serves a diverse range of customers in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to its expansions in Charlotte, Peak 10 is currently adding a fifth data center at its Nashville, Tenn. operations expected to open in October 2016, and opened a third data center at its Raleigh, N.C. operations earlier this year.
