Several vendors upgraded their portfolios by partnering with other vendors last month.

Our latest new services roundup exemplifies the convergence of IT and telecommunications. Some of the largest telco companies have expanded far beyond their normal product set. Sprint’s efforts around IoT and security are a good example.

We saw many of these companies harness the technologies of other players in order to achieve this convergence. AT&T formed a partnership with Box around security. Verizon teamed up with Microsoft to embed its voice infrastructure into the software giant’s collaboration platform. Juniper used capabilities from recently purchased Mist Systems to roll out a cloud-based SD-WAN solution. CallTower partnered with Zoom to launch a conferencing service.

We did see some standalone offerings as well. Google Cloud rolled out several new products for partners to sell, and Dell pushed out several new goods at a recent conference.
