SpectorSoft's Spector360 Analyzes Corporate Environments
July 26, 2010
Want to take a deeper look into your customers’ networks to spot potential upsell opportunities? Perhaps SpectorSoft’s new partner tool, dubbed the Spector 360 Security and Productivity Analysis, can assist. It’s designed for VARs that want to analyze customers’ IT-related security and productivity. Here’s how.
SpectorSoft says Spector360 is designed to provide a short-term analysis of a company’s productivity (through employees) along with computer and app usage. SpectorSoft says the data crunched through Spector360 will help VARs and resellers look closer at companies’ IT usage and potential security concerns, potentially opening the door to upsell opportunities.
SpectorSoft’s claims Spector360 provides detailed analysis that would normally cost “thousands of dollars to conduct.” That’s a bold claim, and SpectorSoft doesn’t juxtapose Spector360 with any ‘traditional’ means of conducting this kind of analysis. However, they do say a 15 computer license starts at $1,999 for those who’d like to buy the software outright; that is, not working through the partner program or using the Security and Productivity Analysis tool as a partner.
Here’s how it works:
Spector360 is installed on-site, it captures all the activity that goes on through corporate laptops and computers regardless if they’re on the premises or not. SpectorSoft says that in just one week, you can find out the following…
Are employees using e-mail and instant messaging appropriately?
Are employees browsing Facebook too much? What’s the most visited website in the company?
Is there sensitive data leakage happening?
Pinpointing the most used and popular business applications
Compare and contrast computing styles between top-performers and other employees.
Are there software licenses being wasted and are unauthorized apps being used?
Essentially, it’s a comprehensive report card for the company, and you — as the VAR — would be able to give an at-a-glance report to your customer, letting them know what problems and potential solutions could be implemented to take control of the environment.
