Fronde, a managed service provider (MSP) partner of Toronto-based backup and disaster recovery (BDR) software company Asigra, has integrated the Asigra Cloud Backup solution with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
And as a result, this Wellington, New Zealand-based MSP now offers a backup-as-a-service (BaaS) solution to protect customer data across cloud, mobile, physical and virtual environments.
“With AWS and Asigra, our clients use Fronde Cloud Backup to improve their IT operations efficiency, leaving them with additional resources to focus on innovation and revenue-generating activities,” Fronde CEO Ian Clarke said in a prepared statement.
Other MSPs can take advantage of the Asigra Cloud Backup-AWS integration too. Asigra noted the new integration gives its MSP partners the ability to offer their customers cloud-based, cost-effective BDR solutions.
“As data continues to grow, organizations are spending more and more on business continuity, disaster recovery and data protection to ensure that the lifeblood of their organization – their data – is safe,” an Asigra spokesperson told MSPmentor. “Some service providers are moving away from being in the data center business, and instead are seeking more paths to partnering with Amazon, as they benefit from reduced costs by leveraging public cloud-based technologies like Amazon Web Services.”
Asigra also pointed out that while some MSPs traditionally have operated their own data centers and infrastructures, these service providers now can leverage the Asigra Cloud Backup-AWS integration to throttle their storage usage based on their monthly customer requirements.
“This integration with AWS, along with the Asigra Recovery License Model, offers financial advantages for service providers challenged with driving down the initial and ongoing costs of backup infrastructure,” Asigra Executive Vice President Eran Farajun added. “Service providers that choose Amazon as their cloud storage platform gain access to a highly distributed, full-featured platform at a fraction of the cost of traditional infrastructure.”
