Rackspace has extended its strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) with an additional multiyear joint investment.

The expanded agreement will drive customer value and innovation. It comes after Rackspace’s AWS business has grown by 250% over the past three years.

Moreover, AWS named Rackspace its 2021 Migration Partner of the Year in the United States and Canada.

Neil Emerson is Rackspace’s chief commercial officer.

“AWS and Rackspace Technology have jointly launched over 1,000 cloud projects enabling clients to fundamentally change how their businesses work,” he said. “This agreement continues the commitment of both companies together to provide a full stack of cloud services to assist customers with becoming cloud-first businesses to accelerate their digital transformation, innovate faster and create value.”

Increased Investment

The extended agreement includes investment to help customers accelerate their applications and data modernization initiatives. It does so through the global expansion of Rackspace’s Modernization Center of Excellence.

The two companies also will collaborate to help customers embrace a cloud-built approach by expanding Rackspace Elastic Engineering. That’s a service that helps customers build and operate modern cloud environments while delivering ongoing innovation and transformation, in addition to around-the-clock operations.

In addition, Rackspace and AWS have established teams across both companies to support customers with AWS-specific strategy, cloud-built development, containers, application modernization, data and workload management.

Rackspace has more than 2,000 AWS customers and 1,000 dedicated AWS professionals. The company has 81 published AWS case studies, 15 AWS competencies and 13 AWS service delivery designations.

Last week, Rackspace announced an expanded strategic partnership with Cloudflare to offer services for Cloudflare Zero Trust. It will help businesses reach their cloud-centric goals faster, support remote workers, and provide a secure access service edge (SASE) for their cloud applications, data, users and devices. Rackspace is offering managed services for Cloudflare Zero Trust through its Elastic Engineering for Security portfolio
