iomart Group's Backup Technology Unveils 'One-Click' DR Service

iomart Group‘s Backup Technology has launched a disaster recovery (DR) service designed to provide “one-click” support.

The online cloud backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions provider has launched ClouDRaaS, a service that includes hypervisor-based replication software from Zerto and “delivers DR that never impacts performance.”

ClouDRaaS provides recovery points objectives (RPOs) of seconds and recovery time objectives (RTOs) of minutes, according to Backup Technology.

In addition, the service offers one-click recovery and rollback of applications, Backup Technology said, and replication of any environment regardless of storage vendor or architecture.

“ClouDRaaS offers that first, safe step into the cloud by giving you the opportunity to safely evaluate and test the water without having to give up control over production applications in the data centers you are using,” Backup Technology Managing Partner Matthew Parker said in a prepared statement. “It makes effective disaster recovery possible within the private cloud, to the public cloud and in the public cloud and because it’s based on virtual replication and is storage and hypervisor agnostic, there’s no need to worry about availability, performance or scalability.”

The cloud BDR market also looks promising for Backup Technology and other cloud services providers (CSPs), which is reflected in recent data.

For example, a report from technology research firm Technavio indicated the global cloud BDR market could expand at a 12.94 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2016 and 2020.
