AWS: DynamoDB Console Available in AWS GovCloud
AWS this week opened access to Amazon DynamoDB in the AWS GovCloud (US) Management Console.
Public cloud giant Amazon Web Services (AWS) has now opened access to Amazon DynamoDB in the AWS GovCloud (US) Management Console. The announcement was made in a AWS blog post this morning.
The access enables developers to leverage DynamoDB, a “fully” managed NoSQL database service. According to AWS, the service “makes it simple and cost-effective to store and retrieve any amount of data, and serve any level of request traffic.”
All data items are stored on solid state drives (SSDs) and are replicated across three of Amazon’s availability zones, the company said.
Amazon has offered several other AWS updates recently.
Recent noteworthy AWS updates include the following:
- Another price cut, reducing the prices of its On Demand and Reserved instances for its EC2 HI1 instances in select regions.
- A new management console for AWS CloudFormation to simplify creation and management stacks of AWS resources.
- Another update to AWS CloudFormation to make it easier for developers to manage relational database service (RDS) read replicas.
- An expansion of its AWS Console mobile app support for iOS and Android to provide deeper viewing information on load balancers and RDS instances and elastic load balancing on AWS.
- An update to enable admins to migrate Amazon EC2 reserved instances (RIs) between availability zones within the same region, instead of being bound to a fixed availability zone, as well as between network platforms.
- Enabling AWS CloudFormation for the AWS GovCloud (US) region.
