Aspera Partners with Vidispine for MAM

What has been going on in the world of media asset management (MAM) as of late? Aspera, Inc, a provider of software that utilizes existing infrastructures, and Vidispine, a company that assists developers and service providers build rich media solutions, have announced a global partnership to combine the integration of both products.

Vidispine’s MAM platform enables users to find and work with any type of media, which works well with Aspera’s transport that supports all data, infrastructure and storage types, regardless of location. The partnership forms a solution that provides a media asset management backbone with all the features and capabilities necessary to support complex workflows. “Vidispine’s platform allows users to build and implement structured workflows for remote content repositories that seamlessly manage file formats and resolutions,” says Erik Åhlin, CEO of Vidispine. “Integrating Aspera high-speed transport extends our platform allowing our customers to easily deploy their content anywhere it’s needed.”

Aspera’s platform offers APIs, which can be embedded into any application or platform. The platform includes server-side components, web applications, and mobile options enabling transfer to and from virtually any device. The result is file-based content and metadata over the wide area network.
