Wolters Kluwer, the global provider of professional information, software solutions and services, has launched its newly redesigned CCH SureTax sales and use tax compliance platform.

The multivertical, cloud-based tax calculation solution aims to help companies efficiently manage their indirect tax regulatory requirements in North America. The platform includes a calculation engine, an exemption certificate management module, a returns module, and business intelligence analytics tools to addresses the entire sales tax life cycle, from rates to returns.

James Paterson, Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting’s vice president and general manager of corporate indirect, tells us his company works with VARs and resellers of major horizontal enterprise resource planning (ERP) and industry-specific billing platforms.

“The updated CCH SureTax platform will allow them to sell/refer a solution that covers all major aspects of a corporation’s indirect tax process,” he said. “For example, a Microsoft reseller will now be able to offer one solution – CCH SureTax – to their customer rather than select, integrate and implement solutions from multiple vendors. This makes things much simpler for them and the customer.”

With integration to ERP and e-commerce platforms, CCH SureTax automates the sales tax compliance workflow by removing manual data processes and enabling data to move from transactions and between platform modules. This means users no longer have to export and import data from and into multiple systems, making the process much more efficient, the company said.

CCH SureTax is customizable to meet the specific needs of organizations and its sales tax research content is specialized by industry vertical. Configurable design supports complicated scenarios and tax requirements, while tax calculation detail for every transaction, allows results to be re-created and defended at audit, according to the company.

The new platform includes several integrated tools that provide corporate sales tax professionals with an end-to-end sales tax compliance solution that meets their evolving needs. Businesses also can choose to have Wolters Kluwer manage their return preparation and filing process as a service so they can focus solely on their core business.

“From a customer standpoint, having a single solution from one vendor means they are able to complete all core tasks more efficiently,” Paterson said. “Working with a single vendor simplifies the relationship and reduces IT resource requirements. Having the calculation, ECM and reporting functionality on a single platform gives VARs and resellers a competitive advantage by facilitating sales of a single solution as opposed to multiple SKUs.”
