The PAETEC executive exodus, post-Windstream acquisition, continues.

Just days after Arunas Chesonis was hired at Sweetwater Energy and Clint Heiden at Sidera Networks comes word that PAETEC’s former CTO has landed a position at Paychex Inc. Sanjay Hiranandani was approved by the Paychex board of directors as a company officer and started his new job on Monday, the Rochester, N.Y.-based payroll and human resources services company said earlier this week. Hiranandani is serving as vice president of IT operations.

Hiranandani joins Paychex after spending 12 years at PAETEC, where he oversaw the service provider’s infrastructure, including data services. He recently designed the expansion of PAETEC’s nationwide data center footprint and the launch of its cloud services. Prior to PAETEC, Hiranandani worked for TeleBeam Inc. and Cornell University.

Incidentally, former PAETEC spokesman Chris Muller has been working as Paychex’s marketing manager since October.

After Windstream announced its purchase of PAETEC, a number of PAETEC employees began to fear for their livelihoods. A couple of weeks later, Windstream confirmed it would be cutting 280 jobs, and those layoffs have been taking place.
