ThinkingPhones Rebrands as Fuze, Secures $112 Million. ThinkingPhones has rebranded itself as Fuze and secured $112 million in funding led by Summit Partners, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) and Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV). The unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider said it will use the funding to expand geographically and accelerate its product development efforts.

Energy Storage Leader Sunverge Energy Closes $36.5 Million Series C Funding. Sunverge Energy, which uses a cloud platform to deliver intelligent storage and distributed energy resource management, has raised $36.5 million in a Series C financing round that included participation from AGL Energy, Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and other investors. “Our current investors to accelerate the development of new, innovative energy solutions that will have a significant impact on our customers’ businesses and on the reduction in global carbon emissions,” Sunverge Energy CEO Ken Munson said in a prepared statement.

Verizon Ventures Leads $22 Mln Series B for Veniam. Veniam has added $22 million in a Series B funding round led by Verizon Ventures, with participation from Cisco Investments, Orange Digital Ventures and other investors. The company, which provides cloud-managed solutions to improve fleet operations and solve urban problems, noted the funding will enable it to “expand its full-stack platform and deliver managed services over networks of connected vehicles.”

Waterline Data Closes $16 Million Series B Round. Data marketplace platform provider Waterline Data has raised $16 million in a Series B funding round led by Partech Ventures. Waterline Data pointed out the funding will allow it to invest in its sales, marketing and research and development efforts. 

Scriptr.io Scores $4 Mln in Series A Funding. Scriptr.io, a cloud platform provider for Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, has added $4 million in a Series A funding round led by Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), Berytech Fund and Insure & Match Capital. The company noted it will use the funding to expand its U.S operations and open a new office in San Francisco.
