Cyber security vendor Comodo this week issued details of a newly discovered and ongoing large-scale ransomware campaign that is using a variant of the infamous “Locky” malware.

Massive New ‘Locky’-Variant Ransomware Attack Now Underway

Experts say that files containing the new “IKARUSdilapidated” strain of ransomware can slip through many common endpoint defenses.

This report was initially provided to MSPmentor in draft form because, thought it was still being completed, Comodo officials determined it was important to make the public aware of the threat.

Comodo has since issued this final report.
