LabTech Offers Deeper Dive into MDM

Remote monitoring and management platform provider LabTech recently announced its 2012 platform and a big upgrade came in the form of LabTech Mobile Device Manager (MDM). LabTech last week provided a deeper dive into the details of the MDM component of 2012, which enables MSPs to remotely manage and secure devices within an end-to-end service lifecycle for customers with Apple iOS and/or Google Android mobile devices, including iPads and other tablets. With LabTech’s addition of MDM software, IT service providers can streamline the tracking, management and reporting of mobile devices from a centralized interface across all customer sites.

The integration of MDM within the LabTech platform is something that more RMM platform vendors have done, are doing or are considering. And it makes sense. So much so that our own Editorial Director Joe Panettieri has predicted the death of MDM as a stand alone product.

The move to incorporate MDM takes LabTech a step further. Currently, the company is teamed with 2,000 partners and over a million agents. Many of LabTech’s integration partners include professional service automation (PSA), threat management and backup and storage solutions.

LabTech prides itself in MSP-ready platforms for small and mid-sized businesses. By having an integrated and centralized interface for technicians, the ability to bulk-enroll existing devices, and register and configure new ones including setup of email, Wi-Fi, VPN and LDAP across smart phones and tablets can be done immediately through the company’s latest software. For those concerned with security, digital certificates for authentication provides device security within LabTech’s platform.

Through LabTech’s partner programs, businesses can become an integration partner or a channel partner.
