CISCO LIVE AMSTERDAM — Cisco has launched its Webex Suite Named User (NU) on AWS Marketplace, expanding its catalog of software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings with the cloud giant that are available to partners. This comes as Cisco continues to access additional routes to market for products and services.

Kristyn Hogan is vice president, global collaboration partner sales at Cisco.

“We have been on a real mission the past few years at Cisco from a route-to-market lens,” Hogan said. “We’ve been taking a lot of leaps forward across different routes to market, AWS being one of them. AWS is really listening to our customers and meeting them with our products.”

Partners want the best applications and services for their customers, she added. And customers want to buy and consume those assets in new business models.

“Let’s say your customer is seeking collaboration tools for their hybrid work initiative. Not just any collaboration tools, but a suite of tools that you can easily purchase and manage for them, and which meets their need for flexibility and choice,” she said. “Well, now there’s a solution for them.”

Optimizing Choice

Cisco is leading with the channel on public cloud marketplaces and its partners are accelerating with Cisco and AWS. More than 50 partners worldwide can sell Webex Suite NU on AWS Marketplace through the Consulting Partner Private Offers (CPPO) program. These partners help their AWS Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) customers “burn down” that committed spend. They can do so by buying Cisco software such as Webex Suite, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes and other SaaS solutions. The partner value proposition may expand with the addition of value-added services ensuring customer success.

“The big thing around that is this is still Cisco-partner led,” Hogan said. “We are doing this in lockstep with our partners. This is not Cisco going around our traditional and valued reseller partner just to go direct with AWS to the customer. Our partners are still at the center of it.”

Cisco Webex Suite Named User on AWS Marketplace gives users multiple options for providing more services, accelerating wins and growing deal values. Webex Suite NU includes calling, messaging, meetings, whiteboarding, webinars (up to 1000 participants), polling and Vidcast. Customers receive a dual benefit by expanding their collaboration footprint while optimizing their AWS investments, Cisco said.

Cisco Webex is a SaaS solution which leverages AWS Platform Services, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud and Amazon Simple Storage Service. Cisco Webex is complementary to other AWS Services and Cisco Services that run on AWS.

The company made the announcement in conjunction with Cisco Live Amsterdam, happening this week.
