McAfee and MX Logic Partners: Getting Hitched In Vegas?

At the McAfee Focus Security Conference this week in Las Vegas, McAfee is expected to show MX Logic channel partners like Spam Soap some serious love. Here’s the scoop from The VAR Guy.

McAfee acquired MX Logic, a cloud-based email and web security specialist, back in July 2009. At the time, some MX Logic partners worried about McAfee’s channel strategy for MX Logic. By early August 2009, The VAR Guy had heard from a few MX Logic solutions providers who said they planned to hedge their bets and test alternatives like Reflexion Networks.

Still, many MX Logic partners remained upbeat — especially when McAfee named Cisco veteran Alex Thurber as its new worldwide channel chief.

Fast forward to the present and McAfee will hold meetings with key MX Logic partners — incuding Spam Soap — during the McAfee Focus 2009 conference in Las Vegas. Smart move. At least one source says Spam Soap, through the MX Logic relationship, is now McAfee’s largest SaaS channel partner.

Spam Soap declined comment. And The VAR Guy has an email into McAfee seeking comment about key initiatives about the conference. More details as soon as they surface.
