Nexmo this week announced the worldwide availability of Nexmo Verify, the company’s international phone number verification and fraud prevention solution.

As for its product, the London-based cloud communications solutions provider said Nexmo Verify provides an “improved user acquisition and retention capabilities to developers and enterprises, as well as a better end-user experience, in a global market where phone numbers are becoming the main identifier for users.”

Nexmo’s application programming interface (API) was designed to enable worldwide app developers and enterprises customers through mobile text-messaging and voice experiences.

The company’s API finds what it believes are the best delivery rates while also automating a country’s best practices, such as choice of language, PIN length, when to use a text-to-speech (TTS) system and more.

“Number verification and related fraud prevention have become a huge challenge in communications worldwide,” said Tony Jamous of CEO at Nexmo. “It’s amazing to witness how quickly developers and companies are addressing the challenge with Nexmo Verify and turning verification into an opportunity for growth and better customer experiences.”

“The phone number is truly becoming the unique identifier of the individual,” he said.
