iOS & Android, bigtincan Integrates with Box

Mobile content management solutions vendor bigtincan has teamed up with secure business content-sharing company Box,  to put bigtincan hub for Box into the Box OneCloud online business app marketplace. bigtincan for Box will expand what business users can do  when they edit, view, annotate, and create files on mobile devices or tablets. It will also add a higher level of security, document-use analytics for business decision makers, and document prioritization to help users decide what's the most important content to read.  Here are the details.

Bigtincan hub adds a new level of organization, role-based access and security to a business's document and content system. Users can collaborate on documents in a secure way. In addition, bigtincan hub can be used to collect real-time metrics and scalability information about how users interact with documents and to also organize and securely distribute relevant content to synched mobile devices inside a secure container.

The company said bigtincan hub for Box offers the following features:

  • mobile-first design that offers a familiar and engaging user experience;

  • built-in Microsoft Office editing capabilities that allow users to fully edit Office docs, without leaving application, including tracked Word changes and Power Point animations;

  • annotation and video chat capabilities so users can collaborate on documents ;

  • deliver and run web content locally (runs inside the app as if on a browser) – such as HTML, HTML5;

  • a content scoring system for highlighting and prioritizing content so that users can read the most relevant content first;

  • real-time content metrics that tracks who is doing what with content;

  • and security and data leakage protection.

“Integrating our proven productivity tools with the leading collaboration platform allows for enterprise-grade applications that propel production and business management to new heights,” said bigtincan President and COO Patrick Welch in a prepared statement. “Our aim is to help organizations move along the continuum between productivity – with increased efficiencies and presumably, revenues and process improvements, ultimately enabling them to be more keenly aware of consumption and engagement.”

Managed services providers (MSP) can leverage bigtincan hub to communicate with employees, partners, and customers, Welch told MSPmentor in an email. More importantly, bigtincan offers a partner program, which enables MSPs to provide the company's platform to customers. He said bigtincan hub for Box supports Android, iOS and Windows platforms.

Box recognized bigtincan hub as a top new app in their OneCloud program for February 2013. bigtincan has partnered with Apple Consultants Network, Citrix, Task Exchange, VMware (NYSE:VMW), and others. For more information on bigtincan, please visit the company's website.
